Database Administrator

AHI Software is looking for a highly skilled professional to manage our databases and assist us in developing our healthcare industry-leading software. The successful candidate must be smart, a self-starter, task/detail/accuracy oriented, be able to multi-task, be a team player and have strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as showcase expert SQL skills.

As a DBA you will be working with our existing Microsoft SQL databases and management systems to monitor system. This would include performance monitoring and tuning to make sure we exceed expected service levels. You will have to enforce existing and implement new security measures as needed to safeguard information against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure. Our DBA will setup, manage and monitor regular database backups and Disaster Recovery initiatives. Keeping an eye to the future the DBA must be able to setup and work with existing and new hardware ensuring we keep our system architecture scalable for future growth.

Working as part of the development team, you will coordinate database development and help determine project scope. You must code well-structured SQL to facilitate new development and make necessary modifications along with debugging/testing code or databases to correct errors. You should be able to work with large number of databases of increasing volume, always looking for ways to automate existing processes and improve system performance.

Requirements:

Bachelor Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related technical field desired
Minimum of 3 years progressively responsible DBA experience required
Expert skills in Microsoft SQL 2005/2008; experience in web development/applications desirable
Ability to be customer focused
Ability to adapt and react effectively to changing priorities, often on daily basis
Solid work history and excellent professional references are required
